Samyang to Announce the new Updated AF 35mm F1.4 FE II Lens. Samyang AF 35mm F1.4 FE II Lens to be announced tomorrow. Successor to the AF 35mm F1.4 FE lens, this lens looks very similar to its predecessor, but has been updated with a custom switch and focus hold button.
The overall length of the teaser image lens is quite large, so we thought it was a medium telephoto lens, but it’s the same size and design as the current AF 35mm F1.4 FE. It will be easier to use for movies if the AF motor is replaced with a quieter one as rumored.
The Samyang 35mm f/1.4 FE is a bright wide angle for the Sony E-mount cameras. Just like the slightly earlier released Samyang 50mm f/1.4 FE, this Samyang also has autofocus. That makes it a solid competitor for Sony’s own 35mm f/1.4 GM.
